EssZimmer: Michelin-starred cuisine in BMW Welt

In the shortest of time the Munich restaurant EssZimmer has become one of the best eateries in German. The gourmet location in the BMW Welt delights visitors and critics in equal measure.
Broad expanses of glass provide extensive views of the futuristic architecture of the BMW Welt. Warm colours, dark leather and plush wood create an elegant atmosphere of wellbeing. The interior of the EssZimmers is accomplished, the food a culinary experience. Bobby Bräuer is responsible for the latter. Just eight months after the opening of the gourmet restaurant on the third floor of the BMW Welt the top chef and his team have succeeded in acquiring a Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau points. Achieving these distinctions in such a record time is truly impressive. “I am proud and happy. Here at EssZimmer the story has come full circle for me in Munich, 15 years after I received the distinction for the first time at the Königshof,” said Bobby Bräuer following the announcement. It was only the beginning of November that Bräuer was named “Achiever of the Year 2014” by the Schlemmer Atlas.

Classic French cuisine, Mediterranean and regional inspiration, honesty and authenticity with products and craftsmanship and creativity form the basis for the menu at EssZimmer. Diese Auszeichnungen in Rekordzeit zu erhalten, das ist eine beeindruckende Leistung. „Ich bin stolz und glücklich. Hier im EssZimmer schließt sich der Kreis für mich in München, 15 Jahre nachdem ich im Königshof zum ersten Mal ausgezeichnet wurde“, erklärt Bobby Bräuer nach der Verkündung. Bräuer wurde erst Anfang November vom Schlemmer Atlas zum „Aufsteiger des Jahres 2014“ gekürt.
